National Parks, US National Parks, National Parks in US are a great way to experience the beauty of nature and all that it has to offer. They are a place for people to go who want to escape from the hustle and bustle of society, but still be close enough to civilization in case they need help. It is important not only for people to have this opportunity, but also for animals who have been pushed out of their natural habitat by humans.
National Parks play an integral role in educating people about environmental issues such as climate change, renewable energy, invasive species, animal habitats and other sustainable topics which can then influence policy making. People should realize that they are at the mercy of man-made policies when deciding whether or not to visit national parks.
In order to encourage people to make more informed decisions when visiting national parks, I conducted research into national parks around the United States and how they promote conservation efforts among visitors, wildlife and local communities.
One of my first findings was that different states have vastly different numbers of National Park Service sites given each state’s size. Alaska and Hawaii, had 19 and 10 NPS sites respectively, while Texas and New York had only 1.8 and 3.4 NPS sites. This shows how important it is for people to take advantage of these opportunities because no one knows what kind of impact you will have on the land.
Another finding I discovered was that there is a general disconnect between what people think they know and what knowledge actually exists about the environment surrounding the park.
